Just when I thought I understood the TV business as much as an outsider could, something like this comes up and bites me in the ass with surprise.

This seems like it's good news for Veronica, so as long as the Gilmores keep showing up as expected, huzzah all around.  Still, though it seems a little weird. 

I, of course, am imagining a  crossover episode in which the Gilmores hire Mars Investigation to do a little P.I. work.  The creation of such a thing would be an impossibility in our reality  Between the GG dialogue and the intricate plotting of Mars, such a dense creation could not exist outside of a pulsar without the help of a particle accelerator.
