Law enforcement sources said Kelly Sott was caught passing an electric toothbrush to Douglas in a conference room inside the 500 Pearl Street courthouse after a court hearing on his federal drug charges. An official said hidden inside the handle of the toothbrush were dime bags of heroin.
The following possible headlines for this story came to mind.a) Love is blind
b) Love makes you stupid.
c) Drugs make you stupid.
But I realized that not only were these cheap jokes but they weren't actually true.
Drugs make stupid people do stupid things. Stupid makes you stupid.
And this was totally stupid.
And before you get all up in my face thinking that she was doing some noble thing because her boyfriend was trying to kick the white horse and she was trying to help him out:
a) he's been in jail a month so if that was true, that particular horse would have already trambled all over him, and
b) though he's a stupid celebrity spawn, he's still a rich, well-connected celebrity spawn and if he needed particular help of the pharmaceutical variety, his girlfriend could get him a script, even behind bars.
So, yes, this was just stupid recreational use of the stupidest kind.
And of course, I'm not judging the drugs or the recreational usage there of. I'm judging the stupid. That's what makes me so angry
