Steve Jobs Yet Again Doesn't Even Buy Me Dinner First

Apple's Mac mini will be reborn as the digital hub centerpiece it was originally conceived to be, Think Secret sources have disclosed. The new Mac mini project, code-named Kaleidoscope, will feature an Intel processor and include both Front Row 2.0 and TiVo-like DVR functionality.

Think Secret is often right and given that I finally gave in and bought an actual Tivo (rather than the PVR knockoffs I've used previously) three days ago, I'm certain these rumors will be true as well; if not for bad timing, I'd have none at all.  Damn Apple products are so small I can't even feel when they stick it in my ass.  Or maybe it's just my fault for being such a tech-slut.  I guess I'm asking for it.

A Tall Drink of Water and a Man Who Loves It

Speaking of uniquely suited to my tastes, it seem every damn gay blog I check out has been posting the pics of  Daniel Cudmore -- Colossus of X2 fame/X3 probable infamy.  Let me follow suit in case you missed them.  He had about three lines in the first one, yet his shirtless saving of the young mutants was see-how-good-you-are-at-using-the-dvd-remote-with-one-hand memorable.  His role is apparently expanded in X3, and though all signs point to the Bryan Singer-less sequel sucking, 6'8" of boyish muscle will get me into any kind of theater -- even the nice multiplex kind where a nice lawyer like Tom Hanks won't get the AIDS.

I find the tale that Cudmore was discovered for his role in X2 at the gym far more amusing when coupled with the popbitch scoop from a few months back that X2 director Singer has hooked up with 8 personal trainers from the same gym in Sydney while shooting Superman Returns.   I'm not saying that the steam room has replaced the casting couch, but my (some might say overly) active fantasy life really appreciates the possibility.

With the new DC comics film naming convention of [Hero] [Verb] -- it's a good thing they don't have an Aquaman movie franchise from which they need to differentiate the new reimagining or we might be seeing Aquaman Swims.

Speaking of everybody's favorite animated fish lover this side of Troy McClure, the recent announcement of a series featuring young Aquaman that will not feature Alan Ritchson - the model-turned-lamppost who memorably got wet on Smallville this season -- finally shows us just how bad an actor  you have to be before the WB won't base a show around you -- a limit I never thought we'd reach in a world where Reba exists.

A bigger bitch would link to the Abercrombie model/American Idol wannabe/Christianity-proclaiming boy's website and mock his trend-following ways, the overuse of Flash animation, his trucker hat, and just how much is wrong with his statement that he can be "successful in all three areas of the entertainment industry" (acting, singing, and MODELING!); I, however, will just leave two links and if you choose to go to the site and make fun it, it's up to you.  1 2

I know I promised Thanksgiving details and less Madonna, but it appears Madonna's gonna keep giving to the gays in ways that seem uniquely suited to my taste, so I'm going to have to keep talking about her.

Maverick TV producing sudser for Logo

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Madonna's Maverick TV is producing a gay soap opera for the Logo cable network.

"San Rafael" is the tentative title of the drama described as a "Melrose Place"-type series about gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender residents of an apartment complex, Daily Variety reported Friday.

The show was created by Christian McLaughlin and Valerie Ahem of Comedy Central's "Drawn Together," CBS's "The Bold and the Beautiful" and MTV's "Spyder Games."

The show is still in the early development stage, Variety said.

A name check for the dearly departed daytime drama Spyder Games?!   Hell yeah, we have lots for which to be thankful.  Let's just hope the residents of San Rafael get a little bit more action than the gay resident on Melrose Place did.

On the eve of Thanksgiving, I have many blessings for which I am thankful. High on the list are you, my fans, whose devotion and passion have not gone unnoticed. Although my career has been filled with many highs, I do not take having a Number One album for granted. Confessions On A Dance Floor was a joy to make but having it debuted (eh?) at No. 1 all over the world brings that joy to a whole new level. You may be proud of me but trust me, I could not be more proud and grateful to all of you for your continuous loyalty and support. I wish you all a beautiful Thanksgiving and I give thanks to each and every one of you.

Rolling Stone asks How Madonna Got Her Groove Back? and despite the annoying title -- as even the article admits she never lost it -- the answer is quite amusing.  One part sounded familiar:

I realized just now as I was down getting my afternoon snack (seasame sticks and cherry sours) that it was not People that had Madonna on the cover but Star.  I apologize for the error but think this says a lot more about the rise of the tabloids and the fall of People than it does anything else.
